Mint New Life Worship is an opportunity for experiencing new and different styles of worship at the Mint, once a month. One of the initial aims was to create an opportunity for more accessible worship for younger people. In fact what has developed over the last three months has been a wonderful experience of all ages worshipping together.
Key elements of Mint New Life Worship include:
- Cake and refreshments from 3.30, which is popular!
- Worship in the main worship area from 4.00 and finishing by 5.00.
- Music, with an eagerness to learn new songs in different languages
and use people’s gifts. So far we have had piano, keyboard, guitar,
bass guitar and sung unaccompanied. - Bible readings explored in different ways including discussion,
drama, craft activities. - Prayer offered in different engaging ways.
- Trying different lay out of the worship space, creating a sense of togetherness
in worship. - Using simple accessible language during worship.
- Getting feedback from the younger people who attend. They
are perceptive to ensuring that all there can access the worship,
they enjoy the cake, music and variety and have ideas and
suggestions for future services. - Making use of the gifts of those present, allowing all to express
their true selves. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but sincere.
Everyone is welcome, and every service has been different. Worship is a journey of expressing our love for God in all we do, we do not stay in the same place on a journey, and there are different seasons for how we express that worship. Perhaps Mint New Life Worship could be part of your journey of worship. All are welcome!
