On 14th November we had a joyful reunion lunch with the Afghan friends we made here at the Mint three years ago.

Now that they are living in scattered homes in Devon it has been harder to keep in touch. We exchanged many memories of when they came to the Mint once a week to share conversation, play games, try words and phrases in our different languages, drink green tea – and often eat cake! We remembered how some of them sewed costumes for our pantomime and took on some sewing for members of the Mint. We were also asked if anyone had a working sewing machine that they might donate, so that a mother might pass on her amazing skills to her daughter.
